It goes without saying that most of us love a good honest burger (and chips, everything with chips) so of course when visiting London we had to take a visit to the aptly named, Honest Burger!

Chicken, beef or vegetarian burgers, whatever your bag, they do it!

And I am very pleased to say that the Honest Burger menu also now offer a vegan option

A vegan burger from Beyond Meat with vegan smoked Gouda, Rubies in the Rubble Chipotle ‘Mayo’, mustard, red onion, pickles, lettuce

But burgers aside (ish), one menu item I wish I had tried and regret not getting is the cheeseburger toastie

Honest beef patty – mustard fried, with pickles and American cheese between two Cheddar and Gruyere toasties with beef and bacon gravy

The picture on the menu looks SO good and I am one of those people that deconstructs their burger and only eats half the bun buuut I always eat a full toastie! So I definitely have food envy and i’m also planning our next trip backI

Honest Burger pride themselves on making great British burgers, so much so they have even opened their own butchery! They only use British beef (Scottish Highlands) and they don’t mince their burgers like most places. Instead, they chop the beef to maintain the flavour and hold the meat together in a nicely packaged patty that just falls apart in the mouth.

The chips are no different, or relish, lemonade, sauces.. all homemade! Everything that can be homemade seems to be homemade and why the heck not! There is nothing better than some good home cooking. Well, apart from maybe someone else cooking it for you.

All burgers are sold with a side of rosemary salted chips and they have a host of sauces available. Bacon ketchup? Bacon gravy? Or hot sauce. Fear not, there are options.

I have to say that personally, rosemary is not my favourite potato accompaniment.

I think there is a time and a place and I’m not sure alongside my burger is it. But that could just be me and it doesn’t put me off, because I love a good chippy chip.

We visited Honest Burger Soho ..and Covent Garden (don’t judge) but I think they are starting to make moves and slowly creep further out of London, so definitely keep an eye out for restaurants opening near you in the future!
