Italy

We’ve only had a brief visit to Italy on our journey around the world so far.

We spent a few days visiting Milan and staying in the NYX Hotel which you can read all about why we think it’s the best positioned hotel in the city for exploring.

Milan was one of those trips we managed to pick up cheap flights for through Ryanair and somewhere that we hadn’t heard of too many people visiting.

We flew over in February which was much quieter than we would imagine peak tourist season to be, allowing  us to get some pretty uninterupted photos of the main sights like the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio.

Milan was also an excellent base for us to take a day trip to Venice which I think could potentially have become one of my all time favourite places in the world.

If you’re thinking of visiting Milan, then why not make use of our One Day Milan Itinerary to help you find the best things to do.

If you’re visiting Venice then we can highly recommend taking a day trip over to one of the small islands, Burano where there’s plenty of things to see and do.
