How often have you looked for the best hot tub lodges Scotland has to offer? Because I can’t even begin to tell you how many times that I have.

Whether you are looking to book romantic breaks or family holidays, lodges with hot tubs are always a crowd-pleaser but they aren’t always easy to come across.

I have put together a list of the best luxury lodges, cabins, cottages, pods, caravans and log cabins in Scotland, many with open fires which I always think is an added bonus!

Best Hot Tub Lodges in Scotland

Aberdeenshire & Angus

Glen Dye Cabins and Cottages – Banchory

Glen Dye has been on my list to visit for a long time. A selection of luxury holiday homes hidden on a private estate of around 30,000 acres in the North East of Scotland.

I love the branding and look of every property available, I think they look so ‘cool’. I would consider Glen Dye as one of the top luxury lodges Scotland has, especially in this area. The overall aesthetic is very different to many of the other locations that we have and it just brings something a little bit different.

This might be the ideal camping or glamping choice for the person that wouldn’t typically entertain the idea.

Each property has its own wood-fired Swedish hot tub, BBQ, record player and games and you will also have access to the wood-fired sauna along with the garden and trailer for fresh eggs and vegetables. Better yet, you can visit The Glen Dye Arms, their own BYOB pub with log fire.

All of the properties are very different and definitely worth checking out. They can accommodate between 2-7 people and are dog friendly.

Each pod and steading comes with an en-suite and private wood-fired hot tub. Premium and steading stays also come with added extras such as bathrobe and slippers, coffee machine and TV etc.

Guests will arrive to a hamper of freshly baked bread and pastries with a bottle of wine to get your holiday started which I love and think makes a trip away feel even more special especially when enjoying the open fire or the Love Shack with its own private hot tub!

It’s a true home from home with all kitchen utilities, including washing machine so you can truly relax and not worry about getting mucky outdoors but if that’s not your thing, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.

Macdonald Aviemore Woodland Lodges – Aviemore

The Macdonald Woodland Lodges have a mix of two and three bed accommodation which makes it ideal for couples, small groups and families.

There are plenty of fun activities to keep the whole group occupied, think of it as more of a resort than a lone lodge.

I don’t believe that the Woodland Lodges offer private hot tub holidays but it has the largest indoor swimming pool in the Cairngorms with a flume, wave machine, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. With golfing, hillwalking, cycling and a gym if you want to work out, there is truly something for everyone.

In terms of surrounding things to do, you are nearby Landmark Forest Adventure Park and Highland Wildlife Park or for a more relaxing time, there is the cinema, spa and shopping.

There are a number of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby but you do also have your kitchen, wood burning fire and private decking if you want something a little more intimate.

There are 18 woodland lodges which can sleep up to 6 guests. There is disabled access for some of the ground floor lodges! Accommodation is dog-friendly but prior notice is required.

Balbinny – Forfar

Balbinny is a little bit different to the rest, not all accommodation has a hot tub but before you dismiss it, it does have a swimming pool and jacuzzi, treatment room, gym and tennis court for use of guests. The swimming pool is indoors with floor to ceiling windows and has the most incredible views over the hills.

The Steadings have heated balconies while The Brochs have panoramic views to The Cairngorms.

The interiors are very clean yet minimalist, somewhat Scandi and in a truly beautiful location. Some of the lodges have bifold doors which open the bedroom up to the greenery of the surrounding fields. They are decorated to such a high standard and would certainly be a luxury to visit!

Highlands

The Hideaway – Lochinver

Heading up to the Scottish Highlands for a relaxing night away has to be one of my favourite things. There is nothing like escaping the city every now and then and enjoying the peace and of course, the beautiful beaches.

If you are like me, The Hideaway in Lochinver is the perfect option for you! A log cabin, nestled away from prying eyes and only 15 minutes away from the popular Achmelvich beach. And make sure to visit Hermit’s Castle, the smallest castle in Europe!

You can enjoy the luxury of the hot tub while looking at the stars, or have a BBQ on the terrace whilst taking in the views which overlook the bay of Lochinver and the Assynt mountains.

The cabin itself is fully equipped with a kitchenette, flatscreen TV, King size bed, washing machine, on-site parking and lots more.

This is a great spot for a romantic getaway for two, and it is pet friendly.

Unfortunately, it is not wheelchair friendly as access is by use of stairs.

Waterloo Lodge can sleep up to 6 guests and is luxurious from wherever you stand. This is less of a cabin and is definitely a lodge, if you could call it such.

With the hot tub, jacuzzi, infra-red sauna, it’s the ideal way to enjoy the tranquility and truly relax.

Much of the lodge is open plan yet homely.

I urge you to take a look!

I think that this would be a fantastic spot to book over the festive season, or for New Year!

The Cabins interiors are almost as you would imagine a hunting cabin, lots of woods, lots of deer themed touches (including a deer head hanging above the fireplace) while The Shepherd’s Hut feels a lot more rustic and quaint.

You can enjoy some water activities with the help of canoes etc on site or take in the peaceful surroundings while enjoying your private hot tub, fire pits and outdoor cookers.

Gorsebank Glamping has been on my list to visit for a long time!

The interiors are very basic and you do need to take your own duvets etc (or pay extra for hire), you have a private toilet and showers along with a fire pit or BBQ for cooking.

For me, it’s the dark skies of Galloway Forest Park that appeal to me most. This is meant to be one of the darkest places in Scotland and perfect for gazing at the starry skies. This is as close to total darkness as you can get!

Stargazing aside, there are plenty of other things to enjoy at Gorsebank Glamping.
